Hi, I'm Jai.
For as long as I can remember, my brain has operated like a browser with 100 tabs open. Constant ideas, sudden worries, endless "don't forget to do this" reminders.
I tried every productivity system out there. I used complex task managers, nested folders, habit trackers, and intricate note-taking methods. But the problem wasn't organization. The problem was friction.
When a thought hits you, you don't want to decide which folder it belongs in. You don't want to tag it. You just want it out of your head so you can get back to what you were doing.
The "Too Many Thoughts" Problem
I realized that the hardest part of managing mental clutter isn't the volume of thoughts—it's the pressure to act on them immediately. Most apps force you to treat every thought as a task to complete or a note to file away perfectly.
But not every thought is a task. Some are just worries. Some are bad ideas. Some just need to be acknowledged and let go.
Building Thoughts Left
I built Thoughts Left for myself. I wanted an app that opened instantly to a blank screen. No prompts, no folders, no guilt. Just capture it now, and decide what to do with it later.
And importantly, I wanted a "Let Go" button. The realization that you can capture a thought, look at it, and consciously decide you don't need to hold onto it anymore was incredibly freeing for me.
Thoughts Left isn't just a tool; it's a practice in letting go. If your mind feels crowded, I hope this app gives you a little bit of quiet.
